Follow God authentically shirt
The front is me as a sheep, and the back states “follow God authentically”
Why?
The Bible says we are all made on purpose with a purpose and we’re all made unique!
(Genesis 1:27 Jeremiah 1:5 Ephesians 2:10 Psalm 138:8 to name a few)
In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 it says how foolish would it be for a foot to say “because I’m not an hand im useless” or a ear to say “because im not a eye im useless”. Meaning we’re all different for a reason and those difference have a purpose! Feet help us walk ears help us hear. We’re not all the same and that’s on purpose!
In John 10:3-5 Jesus says
“The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
The Sheppard is Jesus ,we are his sheep and like it says he knows us by name because God made you on purpose! In the OT sheep were used as a sacrifice to cleanse sins. This is a foreshadowing of Jesus sacrificing himself to die for our sins. This is also why Jesus is referred to as the lamb of God (John 1:29 1Peter 1:19)
Now as Jesus’s sheep we are called to obey him and pick us our cross daily ,ie sacrifice. (Luke 9:23)
The sheep looks like me to resemble following God authentically and in all trueness ,sacrificing my sinful desires to follow Christ rather then putting the blame / weight on others like sacrificing a sheep for what I’ve done. in the same way that I can’t sacrifice other people for my sins ,I can’t follow God pretending to be someone I’m not. God made us all unique for a reason that doesn’t mean indulge in our personal sinful desires but be who God called us uniquely to be by FOLLOWING HIM!
